Volleyball Swept in Monday Night Matchup

Silver City, N.M -- UT- Permian Basin came out swinging tonight, sweeping the Mustangs in a Monday night matchup. The Falcons move to 4-3 in conference play, while the Mustangs drop to 2-4 in conference, 0-3 in their last three conference matches. 

Western New Mexico was led by outside hitter, Selai Damuni (Kula, HI/Tempview High School) who finished the match with a double-double contributing 13 kills and 10 digs on the night. Sarai Migao (Temecula, CA/Chaparral High School) took over as the second outside, hitting .450 on 10 kills, one error in 20 attempts. Hannah Tishlarich (Elk Grove, CA/Pleasant Grove High School) contributed the Mustangs only two service aces. 

The Falcons were led by Aquincia Strambler, who hit a staggering .565 on 14 kills, one error on 23 attempts. Kiera Gerado finished with 24 assists, followed by Sarah Vasquez with 17 digs. The team combined for seven team blocks, and six service aces. 

The Mustangs will look to come back from tonight's defeat when they continue their home stand against Texas Women, Friday at 5 p.m., followed by Texas A&M - Commerce on Saturday at 6 p.m.
