Sharp Shooting by Firestorm Too Much for Mustangs

Silver City, N.M—The visiting Arizona Christian Firestorm was on fire tonight, defeating the Mustangs 68-51 in a non-conference matchup.
 
The visitors outscored the Mustangs in three out of the four quarters, on 46 percent field shooting. Courtney Christmas and Makayla Enders both ended with 19 points.
 
The Mustangs were unable to tame the visitors, going down 34-19 heading into the half. A spark ignited in the third and fourth quarters where Western was able to cut into the Firestorm lead, but fell short as time ran out.
 
Two Mustangs finished in double-digits. Sara Lopez (El Paso, Texas/Horizon High School) contributed 14 points, and Tatyanna McFarland (Riverside, California/Valley View High School) followed up with 11 of her own, including nine rebounds.
 
The Lady Mustangs will look for redemption against Embry Riddle this Sunday at 2 p.m. on Drag's Court
