SILVER CITY, N.M. -- Western New Mexico University has a new look for the Mustang. New for the coming year will be a new-look Mustang that replaces the old purple "W" along with the Mustang in front.

"It is a very exciting time for the university and the athletic department as we introduce our new Mustang logo," Athletic Director Mark Coleman said. "It will give us an identity and a recognition not only in New Mexico but also throughout the western part of the country. The change in color will also allow for consistency in all we do."
