Women's Tennis Can't Get Any Points in ABQ

Senior Emily Lampman
The WNMU women's team came back from Albuquerque winless. On Sunday, they were defeated by Abilene Christian University, 9-0.

Emily Lampman (Kerrville, TX, Tivy High School) and Nicki Duenas (Gilbert, AZ, Mesquite High School, Mesa community College), who filled the No. 2 doubles spot, showed great fight and good attitude during their doubles match yet fell short, losing by 8-4.

In singles play, the ACU girls did not give the Mustangs too many options. Lampman was the one who had the closest battle, losing by 6-3 and 6-1.

“This weekend was definitely a tough one for the girls,” says assistant coach Carolina Hannes. “We played against two really good teams that did not give us many chances. It is a good opportunity though for the girls to get match experience playing against such good players.”
