WNMU faced another really tough team on Sunday and fought to the end against the Academy of the Arts. WNMU lost, 9-0.
“We played the best doubles so far this season. However, our opponents were also playing tough and were able to win the important points,” says assistant coach Carolina Hannes. The No. 3 pairs had the closest match.
Davida Aragon (Arenas Valley, NM, Cobre High School) and
Dena Irvin (Farmington, NM, Farmington High School) lost, 8-5.
In singles play, the Mustangs had few really close matches.
Nikolina Vukadin (Pale, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sredwjoskolski Centar Pale) lost a third set tiebreaker, 10-7, and
Emily Lampman (Kerrville, TX, Tivy High School) had two close sets, 6-3 and 7-5.
WNMU is still in search of their first win after suffering five losses.
