CSU-Pueblo scored in every inning of game one to easily handle the Mustangs in five innings, 14-6, but the tables were turned in game two as the Mustangs registered 12 runs on 14 hits in five innings to win, 12-5. Five of those hits were homeruns.

Between the two games, the two teams combined for nine homeruns, 44 hits, and seven doubles.

The Mustangs move to 25-22 overall and 21-14 in the RMAC. The ThunderWolves have a similar record with a 27-16 marking overall and a 23-14 marking in the conference.

Sophomore Kaitlynn Barnes (Phoenix, AZ, Deer Valley High School) had a big day with five hits and three RBIs. She also had one homerun, which moved her to the front as the WNMU season homerun leader with 17.

Jessica Jayo (Peoria, AZ, Centennial High School) and Rebecca Reynolds (Benson, AZ, Benson High School) had two homeruns on their six at-bats each. Jayo finished the day with four RBIs. Reynolds had two.

In the first game, the Mustangs went through three pitchers in the defeat. Earning the loss, however, was starting thrower Emily Huhta (Albuquerque, NM, Manzano High School, Lamar Community College) (9-8) as she gave up seven hits and eight runs in her 1.1 innings of play.

Game two's win was awarded to Hannah Dodson (Alpine, TX, Alpine High School, Odessa College) (6-8). In her complete game, she allowed five hits and four runs and produced three strikeouts.
