The WNMU women's tennis team lost, 5-1, to the University of Texas-El Paso Saturday morning.
Both teams moved right to singles match play as weather was a factor. The Mustangs tallied a point immediately at the No. 6 spot due to a Miners' injury.
At No. 5, WNMU's
Vanessa Molina (El Paso, TX, Franklin High School, Tyler Junior College) showed a great fight, losing on the third set tiebreaker, 10 -4, She dropped the first set, 7-6 (7-2), and won the second in another battle, 7-6 (7-4). The remaining Mustangs fell in straight sets.
“The weather wasn't very good today, yet the girls were able to get some experience playing an NCAA Division I team,” stated assistant coach Carolina Hannes.
