Women's Tennis Faces Tough Competition

Junior Emily Lampman
The Mustangs faced some tough competition Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, WNMU could not tally a point against Cal Poly-Pomona or Rhode Island in singles or doubles. WNMU were swept by the Bronchos, 9-0, and Friday and the Rams, 7-0, on Saturday.

Versus the Cal Poly-Pomona Bronchos, Emily Lampman (Kerrville, TX, Tivy High School) and Vanessa Molina (El Paso, TX, Franklin High School, Tyler Junior College) produced the best battle. Lampman dropped the first set, 6-2, but battled in the second set with a 7-5 loss. Molina had a strong first set, dropping it by a score of 7-5. The second set was not as close with a 6-3 defeat.

Against Division I Rhode Island, the Mustangs could not get past the three-point mark. WNMU posted seven sets with three points.
