The Mustangs gave up two homers for seven runs to allow Grand Canyon University to get a 13-5 non-conference win today.

The Antelopes swept the Mustangs in the three-game series that started yesterday and improved their season record to 13-1. Western New Mexico fell to 4-8.

The Mustangs scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but GCU matched the runs in the bottom of the first and posted another one in the second and eight in the third. Western New Mexico scored only one more run in the fifth inning to end it early.

Amy Aicher (Snohomish, WA, Snohomish High School, College of Southern Nevada) and Rebecca Reynolds (Benson, AZ, Benson High School) both marked two hits. Each also batted in a runner.

Junior Hannah Dodson (Alpine, TX, Alpine High School, Odessa College) pitched two innings and allowed five hits and five runs. Arriel Smith (Oakhurst, CA, Yosemite High School) gave up the other eight runs while Sarah Almanza (El Paso, TX, JM Hank High School, Ranger Junior College) closed out the game with a strong 1.1 innings pitched.
