Senior Priscilla Garcia
The two softball seniors, Priscilla Garcia (Albuquerque, NM, St. Pius X High School) and Stephanie Bisgard (Scottsdale, AZ, Coronado High School, Mesa Community College), played in their final game at Mustang Field Wednesday afternoon, and they went out with a bang. In game two, Garcia helped post the 15-7 win after waving off three batters. Bisgard finished her final game with a perfect showing at the plate (4-4).

WNMU struggled at first. The purple and gold dropped the first game, 15-6, in six innings. Grand Canyon belted five home runs in the win. In total, Grand Canyon pounded 17 hits in the opening game; whereas the Mustangs committed four errors.

Rebecca Reynolds (Benson, AZ, Benson High School), Kristina Barr (San Diego, CA, La Costa Canyon High School, Central Community College), Kaitlynn Barnes (Phoenix, AZ, Deer Valley High School), and Courtney Reyes (Alamogordo, NM, Alamogordo High School) each posted two hits in the loss.

The tables turned in game two It was a slugfest for WNMU in game two. Every Mustang batter posted at least one hit in the game. Bisgard led the team with four of them. Barnes posted the most RBIs with seven. Four of them came off a grand slam in the bottom of the second inning.

The Mustangs are still in the hunt for the eighth and final spot in the RMAC tournament held in two weeks. With one game behind Fort Lewis, the Mustangs must go up against CSU-Pueblo this weekend in Pueblo, Colorado to finish out the regular season. Fort Lewis will take on a struggling New Mexico Highlands University team.
