The Mustangs will continue play on Wednesday when they take on non-conference Eastern New Mexico University in Silver City. This will be the 13th, 14th, and 15th game of a 19-game stretch spanning over two short weeks.

Fort Lewis jumped out to an early 7-2 lead after 1 ½ innings in game one. The Mustangs came within three in the bottom of the second after Rebecca Reynolds (Benson, AZ, Benson High School) hit a two-run homer over centerfield.

WNMU then shaved off two more runs in the third. The Skyhawks then committed their second error of the inning to score Batten.

WNMU finally tied things up in the bottom of the fourth. First, Kristina Barr (San Diego, CA, La Costa Canyon High School, Central Community College) doubled to left field. Two batters later, Barnes traded places with Barr to score the run.

Fort Lewis broke the tie quickly in the fifth as their lead-off batter sent to ball flying over the outfield fence. Each team scored again in the seventh, but the Mustangs were still short one run.

Batten finished game one with a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Barr chipped in with three hits of her own.

In game two, the Mustangs didn't post their first hit until the fourth inning; whereas, Fort Lewis already have four runs on the board. Barr registered the first hit with a double to centerfield. The Skyhawks connected 14 times.

WNMU's last hit of the game was in the bottom of the sixth. Bisgard hit a single to second base. Nothing came out of it.

The Skyhawks scored at least one run in every inning except for the second inning. Fort Lewis' best inning was in the seventh when they brought four runners across home plate.
