De La Vega pushed for a top-10 finish before settling for a tie at 11th. De La Vega posted a pair of 72’s for a 144 as he finished the back-nine strong with a birdie and an eagle to go one-under. He helped the Mustangs tie for ninth at the West/South Central Regional Preview that took place in Amarillo, Texas. He tied with Gonzalo Pan De Soraluce for the top mark on the team in par-four scoring at 4.09 and led the team in pars with 23.
