 Ruston paced the Mustangs at the CSU San Marcos Fujikura Invitational tying for ninth with a 221. He fired rounds of 76-68-77, with his second round 68 being the best on the team during the tournament. He led the team in par-four scoring (3.90) and in pars with 35. Going against a tough field, Ruston helped the Mustangs place eighth out of 16 teams.
