Chad Carter was named the RMAC/Baden Defensive Player of the Week Monday. Carter led the team in rebounds in the teams upset victories over No. 20 Fort Lewis and No. 14 Adams State. He combined to pull down 19 rebounds in the two games, including a game-high 11 against Adams State. Twelve of those rebounds came on the defensive end, with a pair of them coming late in the 66-64 win over Fort Lewis. He also posted five steals, with three coming in the 74-70 win against Adams State. In that same game, he came away with one of his two blocks late in the contest against Kaimyn Pruitt that helped swing momentum, as he also got the ensuing rebound and later made a free throw. He led the team in scoring, averaging 18.5 points, with a high of 20 coming against Fort Lewis. Carter averaged 6.0 defensive rebounds (9.5 total rebounds), 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. Carter continues to lead the team in several categories this season including points per game (15.2), field goals made (114), free throws (70) and steals (38). He is second on the team in defensive rebounds (83) and blocks (11).
