In the second half against Highlands, WNMU broke the game wide open with a surge from special teams punt returner Salvador Garcia. The purple and gold defense held the Cowboys offense to just 14 yards on their opening drive to force them to punt. Garcia called for the ball and got it on his own 22-yard line. The junior returned it 78 yards and his first special teams touchdown of the year. On the day, Garcia returned five punts for 127 yards for the one touchdown and three kickoffs for 63 yards.
