Joon Lee's (Seoul, South Korea, Guildford Park Secondary) solid ball striking was rewarded last week with good putting as he got his first top-10 finish in college golf. The freshman from Korea had just 30 putts Tuesday to post a closing round 67 to lead the Mustangs to a third place finish at Grand Canyon. Lee improved each day over Goodyear’s Palm Valley Golf Course, posting 72-69-67 to finish in a tie for sixth place overall. The Mustangs, as a team, turned in one of their best performances on the course with a solid third place finish at the Invitational. The Mustangs defeated several ranked schools including No. 1 Central Oklahoma and No. 8 Sonoma State as well as all other RMAC schools.
