Western New Mexico University Athletics

High School: She played for Martin Luther King Jr. High School as a setter. She helped the team claim CIF-SS Division 2AA Champions, Regional Champions and State Runner-Up in 2012. During the 2013 campaign, the team reached the quarterfinals. Hughes also plays for the Rancho Valley Volleyball Club.  She plans on a major in art/photography.

WNMU (2014): Hughes completed her first season with the Lady Mustangs as setter. She saw action in all 25 matches, playing in 81 sets and compiling 316 assists (second on the team), 24 service aces (second on the team), 12 kills and 112 digs. She had at least 10 assists in 17 matches including a stretch of 12 matches with double-digit assists to close out the season. Hughes had a season-high 32 assists against Fort Lewis. Her high in digs with 12 came against New Mexico Highlands in which she also had a double-double with 13 assists. 

WNMU (2015): During her sophomore season, Hughes played in 22 matches, starting 21 and logging 82 sets. She came away with 25 kills, 624 assists to lead the team, 29 service aces, 156 digs and 12 blocks. Hughes recorded a season-high four kills against Adams State, 55 assists, also against Adams State, four service aces versus Black Hills State, 15 digs against Angelo State and three blocks versus Western State and Adams State. She had double-digit assists in every match she played in and had 10 or more digs six times.
