Prior to WNMU:
In high school, Hughes attended Cloudcroft High School, where she participated in volleyball. At CHS, she received the All-Star award for blocking and outside hitting. Hughes was also invited to play at the All-Star Hatch Green Chile game. 

2024 Season:
Hughes has appeared in a total of 30 sets across 10 matches during the 2024 season, serving as a consistent offensive presence at the net. Finished the year with 54 kills on 176 total attacks, averaging 1.80 kills per set with a .136 hitting percentage. Recorded 191.5 total points on the season (1.93 points per set), and maintained similar stats throughout conference and non-conference plays. Career-high 16 kills against Western Colorado on September 13, 2024, and a season-best 16.5-point performance at Eastern New Mexico on September 21, 2024. Added 12.5 points in matches against Drury (Sept. 6) and Lubbock Christian (Oct. 23), demonstrating the ability to contribute in high-volume attacking roles. Contributed defensively with 21 digs (0.70 digs per set) and 5 total blocks, including 1 solo block and 4 block assists, for 5.0 total blocks on the year (0.17 blocks per set). Also added 1 service ace during the season and recorded a season-high 4 digs against UT Tyler on November 2, 2024.

Hobbies and Aspirations:
Hughes has five siblings and enjoys crocheting/drawing in her free time. After WNMU, Hughes would like to have her own housing company with a construction degree and an architecture degree.
