Hobie Vannoy

Vannoy, a Morristown, TN, native, enters year three with Mustangs and his second under Head Coach Holly Watts. 

"Hobie is very knowledgeable about the game" said Watts, "He brings a wealth of high-level experience both as student athlete, as well as playing professionally."

Prior to WNMU:

Vannoy's athletic coaching started in 2016 for a year at Emory & Henry College, in Virginia. After a year of coaching, he went overseas to play professionally in the United Kingdom. Gaining more knowledge of the game, WNMU's former Head Volleyball Coach, Jim Callander, hired Vannoy in 2018.

"I am extremely thankful for Holly and Scott Noble for allowing me to stay on the staff" said Vannoy.

Playing Career:

While playing for Milligan College (now Miligan University), Vannoy was
a 4-year captain and earned the "Academic Buff" Award three times. On the court, Vannoy is the all-time leader in Assists and Aces, and 2nd all-time in Digs at Milligan.

Personal:

Vannoy is engaged with Kelli McGhiey, a former Mustang great volleyball player (2014-2017). A graduate of Milligan College and earning a degree in Multimedia Journalism, and earning a graduate certificate in media, communication, and global development at the University of East London. Vannoy is originally from Morristown, TN, where he attended Morristown East High School. Vannoy likes to play volleyball and slow pitch, enjoys camping, and any recreational outdoors activity.
