Biography
2020-2021: COVID year.
2019-2020: In Sacramento, CA, at the Capitol Cross Challenge, Anzures posted the 7th fastest time in school history (25.36.8). Coming in fourth at the Mesa Classic, Anzures finished at 27.06.1. At the Highlander Invitational at the UCR AG Ops Course in Riverside, CA, Anzures finished in 23rd with a time of 25:05.72. WNMU hosted the Lone Star Conference Championships, where Anzures took the 22nd spot overall in 26:43.60. Finishing up the season at th South Central Regional, in Canyon, TX, Anzures finshed in 88th posting a time of 34:17.41. Anzures was also selected to the Lone Star Conference Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team
2018-2019: At the New Mexico State Invitational. Anzures finished in 11th with time of 23:35.85. At the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, OR, Anzures finished 35th with time of 24:42.3. At the Conference Championships in Canyon, TX, Anzures finished 35th with a time of 27:44.70. Anzures was also selected to the Lone Star Conference Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team.
2017-2018: Anzures ran to a time of 27:04.2 which placed him 41st in the 8k race at the Coyote Classic in San Bernardino, CA. With this performance he earned Lone Star Conference Cross Country Freshmen Runner of the Week. At the NCAA South Central Regional that took place in Canyon, TX, Anzures ran a time of 37:16.84 to come in 167th. In the spring, Anzures broke the school record for the 800m with time of 1:57.83.
History:
Anzure graduated from Grants High School in 2017. At Grants High School, Anzure was a three-sport athletes running cross country, track & field and played basketball. Anzures had a decorative and accolade filled high school career as he was a five-time State Qualifier Cross Country, five-time District 5-5A Cross Country All-District 2012-2017, four-time State Qualifier Track & Field, and four-time State Qualifier Boys Basketball 5A.
In 2016, he was the District 5-5A Cross Country District Champion, Boys Basketball District 5-5A First-Team All-District, Boys Basketball District 5-5A Champion, made the Al Aremendariz Classic Boys Basketball Invitational All-Tournament Team, was the Eddie Pena Holiday Classic Boys Basketball MVP, and got the state semi-finals game in basketball.
In 2017, Anzures broke the school record for 800m and 1600m Relay, Track & Field Class 5A 800m State Runner-Up, Track & Field Class 5A 1600m Relay State Champion, the Marilyn Sepulveda Meet of Champions 800m Champion, Boys Basketball District 5-5A First-Team All-District, selected to play in the New Mexico vs Arizona Boys Basketball All-Star Game, and was Grants High School Male Athlete of the Year.

Hobbies: golfing, playing basketball, baseball, soccer, fishing, and hiking
Aspirations: After Anzures gradutes with his masters, he has hopes of pursuring his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at UNM.
Fun Fact: Anzures once played 1v1 basketball matchup against NBA Star, Tony Snell, at a basketball camp and won.
Awards at WNMU: 2nd fastest 8k in WNMU history, hold the 3rd and 5th fastest 5k times at WNMU for track, WNMU 3000m Record Holder, 2017 Lone Star Conference Cross Country Freshmen Runner of the Week, 2020 Lone Star Conference Cross Country All-Conference Team, 2020 NCAA DII All-American, 4x Lone Star Conference Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team, 4x LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, 2020-2021 LSC Scholar-Athlete Awardee
