Western New Mexico University Athletics

Lenny Washington is a freshman from Las Cruces, New Mexico, majoring in Elementary Education. He attended Organ Mountain High School, where he competed in both basketball and football and was named District Player of the Year in 2025. Washington continued his education at New Mexico State University before joining the Western New Mexico University men’s basketball program.

Outside of basketball, Washington enjoys writing, listening to music, and spending time outdoors. He has a strong passion for giving back to his community and helping others, which earned him recognition as a Mayor’s Top Teen of Las Cruces. After graduating from WNMU, Washington hopes to take basketball as far as possible while using his journey to motivate and inspire his future students to chase their dreams and never give up on their goals.
