Eric Penrod is in his first season with the Mustangs as a graduate assistant coach at WNMU. He has been running the strength training sessions for the players this fall while beginning his Masters program in Interdisciplinary Studies of Business Administration and Counseling.

“Eric has such thirst and energy to become the best coach possible. He was a big help to the University of Wyoming last year," Head Coach Jeff Law said. "He has been an immediate impact to our strength and conditioning program. I know he will be nothing but a huge asset when we get on the floor”

Eric came from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where he was the Cowboys’ student manager under Coach Larry Shyatt for three years.  During his time with Coach Shyatt and the Cowboy coaching staff he gained valuable knowledge and training on developing a team for a winning season. During his time there the Cowboys were 59-41 and made it to the CBI three consecutive years. He graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

Before becoming a Cowboy, Eric played at Northwest Community College under Coach Andy Ward, in Wyoming until suffering a career ending injury.

Eric is from Fort Collins, Colorado, graduating from Fossil Ridge High School in 2008, where he was a four-year letterman and the all-time career leader in rebounds and blocks for the men's basketball program.  He also held the high jump record in High School reaching 6’4". He is the son of Kathy and brother to Ben and Lauren.
