High School: Named to the First-Team All-League squad.  
 
WNMU (2014): Redshirt season.

WNMU (2015): Butler played in three games, posting five tackles, with a season-high four stops against Arizona Christian.

WNMU (2016): Butler played in seven games, starting two as a redshirt sophomore. He came away with 11 tackles, five solo and a pass defended. He had four tackles against Eastern New Mexico, along with a pass broken up.
