Western New Mexico University Athletics

Mario Holguin is a sophomore football player from El Paso, Texas. He attended Americas High School, where he competed in football and basketball. During his high school career, Holguin earned numerous honors, including two-time 6A All-City Defensive Team honors in football, Football All-Star Game MVP, 6A All-City Defensive MVP in basketball, two-time 6A All-City Team honors in basketball, and 6A Newcomer of the Year in football. He is currently studying Kinesiology at Western New Mexico University.

Mario is one of five siblings, and his older brother also played college football alongside him for one year. Outside of football, he enjoys working out, playing golf, spending time with his friends and family, and participating in anything sports-related. After graduating from WNMU, Mario plans to become a physical therapist and eventually start a business with his brother, who is also pursuing a career in physical therapy. He is grateful for the opportunity to continue playing football while working toward his academic goals.
