Coach Rocky Alarcon finished his first season in charge of the defensive line at WNMU during the 2016 campaign. His defensive line was part of a group that forced 14 interceptions, 11 sacks and 12 fumbles (11 recovered). The Mustangs tallied 100 total tackles against the Wing T formation running attack of Eastern New Mexico in which the Greyhounds. WNMU posted three sacks twice against Eastern New Mexico and Tarleton State. In the win against Angelo State, the Mustangs came away with three interceptions, a sack and a fumble recovery. They added a three forced fumble game against Oklahoma Panhandle State, recovering two. The pressure was on the quarterback in four different games as the Mustangs had four quarterback hurries or more on those occasions, going for a high of six against Angelo State.
Before joining the WNMU coaching staff, Coach Alarcon was on the coaching staff at his alma mater, Kentucky Wesleyan for three years and also spent time at both Coachella Valley High and Deseret Mirage High.

During his playing career, he suited up for both Kentucky Wesleyan and Mt. San Jacinto Junior College.

On staff as a coach with the Panthers, he helped Kentucky Wesleyan to one of their best season in program history coming away with a seven-win season in 2014, as the team finished the year on a three-game winning streak. This past season, they added five more victories, going 4-2 down the stretch.

During his career at Kentucky Wesleyan, he saw action in 14 games along the offensive line. Over the course of his two-year career at Mt. San Jacinto, he compiled 45 tackles and two sacks while being a starter for the team both years along the defensive line.

Alarcon played in the Indoor Arena League for the Owensboro Rage from 2013-2014. He also completed his master's degree in sports management at Liberty University.
