Biography

WNMU (2011): redshirt season.

WNMU (2012): Played in all 11 games for the Mustangs, coming away with 36 tackles (13 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups and one blocked kick.

WNMU (2013): Had a big season on the defensive line, led the team in tackles for loss with 8.5, while adding 2.5 sacks, 32 total tackles, 21 solo, two pass breakups and defended, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
WNMU (2014): He was selected to the Second-Team All-RMAC for his solid junior season. Avina was a force along the defensive line tallying a team-high 5.5 sacks, along with the second-most tackles for loss with 7.5 He also added 43 tackles, with 20 solo, eight quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. He tallied a high in tackles with eight against Fort Lewis, where he also had his high in sacks with two.

WNMU (2015): Named to the RMAC Preseason All-Conference Team.
