Western New Mexico University Athletics

High School: Rutherford played at Ridgway Secondary School in Ridgway, Colo. The 5-foot-9 outside hitter piled up an impressive list of accolades during her career. She was a four-year starter on varsity, named to the San Juan Basin League First-Team All-Conference and Player of the Year in 2013, 2014 and 2015. She was tabbed Max Preps Player of the Week both in 2014 and 2015, Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) Second-Team All-State (2014), CHSAA First-Team All-State (2015), Colorado Coaches of Girls Sports First-Team All-State (2015) and Colorado High School Coaches Association First-Team All-State (2015). The team enjoyed success in 2013, 2014 and 2015 collecting San Juan Basin League Championships, District Champions, Regional Runner-Up and Colorado State qualifiers all three years. The team finished sixth at the Colorado State Championships in 2014 and ninth in both 2013 and 2015. Rutherford did well in the classroom adding All-State Academic honors in 2013, 2014 and 2015, while being named to the honor roll. She played for the club team Mesa Juniors Volleyball Club and the team finished ninth at the Colorado Crossroads and were the Diggin' It in Durango Tournament Champions.

WNMU (2016): Rutherford saw action in three matches and four total sets as a freshman. She tallied a kill, a service ace and two digs. She recorded a kill against Texas A&M-International and a dig versus both Minot State and Texas A&M-International.
