Biography
WNMU (2017): Castillo played in 43 games, starting 42. She tallied a .243 batting average, four runs scored, 26 hits, four doubles, seven RBI and 13 walks. She was strong at first base coming away with a .987 fielding percentage. Castillo had two hits in a game five times against Chico State, Eastern New Mexico, Texas Woman’s (twice) and Cameron. She drove in a pair of runs versus Eastern New Mexico and had two walks against Central Washington and Angelo State. Castillo was named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll all three semesters.
WNMU (2016): Castillo played in 14 games, starting two as a freshman. She came away with a solid .400 batting average, two home runs, five RBI, a double, six hits and three runs scored. She added 19 putouts while playing first base. She posted a three-hit game against Fort Lewis in which she also drove in a season-high three RBI. Castillo tallied one multi-hit game and two multi-RBI games and had a three-game hitting streak.
High School: Carolyn Castillo played locally at Silver High School where she was named First-Team All-District in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. She was named First-Team All-State as a shortstop in 2014 and 2015, All-South/New Mexico All-Star in 2015 and the All-South/New Mexico All-Star Most Valuable Player in 2015, Artesia Invitational All-Tournament Team 2014, Silver High Offensive MVP 2014 and New Mexico Max Preps Player of the Game for the 2014 State Championship. As a team, they were District Champions in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. They also were State Champions in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. During her senior season, she posted a .455 batting average, a .522 on-base percentage, seven home runs, 35 hits, 28 RBIs, and 31 runs scored. She landed on the honor roll all four years, academic Letter, and the National Honors Society of High School Scholars. Castillo graduated as a Gold Scholar and Salutatorian of her class.
