Biography
WNMU (2015): Castillo played in 25 games, starting 21 after returning from injury during the season. She tallied six runs scored, 18 hits, seven RBI, a stolen base and a .261 batting average. She tallied a season-high three hits against New Mexico Highlands and had five multi-hit contests. She had a pair of two RBI games, both against New Mexico Highlands.
WNMU (2014): She saw action in 49 games, starting 41. She posted a .294 batting average, 24 runs scored, 30 hits, three doubles, a triple and 11 RBI. She also collected 10 walks and three steals and had 51 putouts and two assists in the outfield. She recorded a high in hits with three against Chadron State and had a three RBI game against Adams State.
WNMU (2013): Castillo played in 38 games, starting 11 as a true freshman. She posted a hit, 13 runs scored and two sacrifice hits. She scored a season-high two runs against New Mexico Highlands.
High School (Career): Was a multi-sport athlete, as well as serving on student council. She was on student council all four years, while also being a class officer for three years, being a student council officer her senior year. Named Student of the Month in April of 2011 and Outstanding Student of the Year in 2011. Played soccer all four years and was named to the All-District, All-State each season. Team was District Champions in 2008, while she was named the Best Offensive Player that same year. A year later, she was named the Best Defensive Player, Co-MVP in 2010, MVP in 2010-11 and captain in 2011. In softball, team was District Champions all four years, State Runner-Up in 2009 and State Champions both 2011 and 2012. She played on the softball team all four years, being named to the All-District squad three years, All-District MVP as a senior, Fighting Heart in 2011, captain in 2012, Artesia Invitational All-Tournament Team in 2012, All-South and All-American as a senior. In addition, her academic awards include earning an academic letter three years, National Honor Society three years, All-American Scholar in 2009 and Gold Scholar (graduating with honors) in 2012.
