Silver City, NM – The Lady Mustangs complete their second homestand against the UT Dallas Comets, putting up a tough fight.

The morning started off with the Mustangs fighting a difficult battle and eventually falling 2-5.

The morning started out with the Mustangs pairing up in duos for doubles matches with the duo of Xaviera Melgar (Tacna, Peru/Alexander Von Humboldt School) and Sofija Krstic (Knjazevac, Serbia/Gymnasium 9th May) leaving the court first, conceding the match 1-6. The second duo of Eva Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)) and Josefina Bailetti (Pergamino, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Nuestra Señora del Huerto) were able to pick up the momentum and claimed victory 6-3. The final dup to exit the court was Lucia Carmena (Alcala de Henares, Spain/Les Complutense Alcala de Henares) and Nikoletta Pytel (Warsaw, Poland/Cosinus Lódz (Poland)), who fought a hard fight, but dropped the game 7-6(7-4).

The single matches ensued afterwards with the Comets winning by retirement against Carmena. Melgar was the second to leave the court, conceding the match 1-6, 2-6. Pytel exited the court afterwards after a hard fight, and eventually dropped the match 5-7, 3-6. Krstic was the fourth to exit the court, falling 3-6, 2-6. Bailetti was able to pick up momentum afterwards, exiting the court fifth after claiming victory 6-0, 6-2. Guta was last to exit the court, who also took the victory with her with 7-6(10-8), 6-2, 10-1.
This concluded the morning with the final score for the Mustangs being 2-5.

The Mustangs will continue their homestand, taking on the University of Texas at Tyler Patriots tomorrow at 8:30 am at the WNMU Tennis Courts
