KINGSVILLE, TX – Mustangs faced TAMUK for the third time this series in Kingsville. WNMU would go on to fall to the Javelinas 1-6.

GAME 3:

The Mustangs outlasted the Javelinas in the 1st inning as neither team put up any runs. WNMU struggled in the 2nd inning as their opponent found ways to put the ball in play and scored 4 runs on Western. 

The Mustangs had 6 total hits today with half of them coming from the 3rd inning. Kamerynn Cordova (Fowler, CA/Fowler HS) would give the Mustangs their single run of the game as she drilled a single out to right field and allowed Nichole Armijo (Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain HS) to touch home plate.

WNMU also allowed the Javelinas to score a run in the 4th and 6th innings, giving the Mustangs too much space to come back in their final at bat. 

Labraida Tenorio (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho HS) started on the mound for the Mustangs, forcing 19 AB on the Javelinas and picking up a SO for her individual performance. Cordova finished off on the mound for WNMU, only allowing 1 hit from TAMUK.

This concludes the series against TAMU Kingsville Javelinas. The Mustangs remain on the road to take on the Saint Edward's Hilltoppers in Austin, TX for a double-header Saturday March 2. Game one starts at 11am MT.
