Wichita Falls, TX – For the second time this season, WNMU battled against Midwestern State in Conference play. The Mustangs held MSU to 10 first quarter points in a grinding game but would ultimately fall 57-67.

Leading the way for WNMU was Jade Goynes (Fort Worth, TX/North Crowley High School) as she racked up 21 pnts, 2 steals, 2 assists, and 8 grabbed boards.

Contributing on the defensive end, Sydney Wright (Houston, Texas/Henley High School)(5), Eliza Joynes (Adelaide, South Australia/Henley Sports Academy)(6), and Larissa Laborin (Las Cruces, New Mexico/Centennial High School)(5) combined for another 16 rebounds for WNMU.

WNMU would trail MSU only by single digits in each quarter, but could not seem to find enough momentum to overtake the lead. WNMU produced their best shooting performance as a team in the 3rd quarter as they shot 53.85% on FGs, 33.3% from the Arc, and went 2-2 from the stripe.

The Mustangs will head East for a return trip to Texas next week as they take on Lubbock Christian University Thursday February 15th at 4:30PM MT. Following that, they face West Texas A&M Saturday February 17th at 12PM MT
