TUCSON, AZ – The Mustangs were challenged twice as they faced Nebraska at Kearney in the first game and Davis & Elkins College in the 2nd game. WNMU would fall to Nebraska at Kearney 2-5, and finish game two 3-8.
GAME 1:
The Mustangs started game one rough, giving up 3 runs to Kearney, but answered back with 2 runs of their own in the second inning after a single from Hannah Martinez (Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad HS). Through out the game, Kearney held the Mustangs to just those two runs as they tacked on another 2 runs of their own in the 3rd and 5th innings as well.
Martinez was the best batting performer in the first matchup as she went 3-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Adlai Alvidrez (El Paso, TX/Americas HS) also hit solid as she made contact twice out of her three batting attempts.
Starting on the mound this game was Kamerynn Cordova (Fowler, CA/Fowler HS), who had 2 strikeouts and 23 ABs, pitching through all seven innings.

The 7th inning was brutal for the Mustangs as the Senators scored 5 more runs at their final at bat. The mustangs also scored runs of their own as Aryana Munoz (Dexter, New Mexico/Dexter High School) slid in on an error and Alvidrez was walked in. This was not quite enough to bring the Mustangs back in the game.
Madeline Bleak (Mesa, AZ/Mountain View HS) hit exceptionally well going 3-for-4 in the second game, but she would be the only one who made contact multiple times.
