Kingsville, Texas - Mustang Volleyball travels away to Texas A&M - Kingsville to play their last game of the weekend. After a strong fight, the Mustangs would fall to the Javelinas 0-3.

Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School),
Jayden Hughes (High Rolls, NM/Cloudcroft High School), and Jéssica Sales led the offense for the Mustangs with five kills each.
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) would spread the ball around the court with a total of 17 assists.
Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France),
Carley Deck (Tucson, AZ/Tanque Verde High School),
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School), and Jéssica Sales would all receive an ace during the match to help out the Mustangs.
In the back row, the Mustangs would keep busy with
Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) receiving 17 digs, while
Jayden Hughes (High Rolls, NM/Cloudcroft High School) and
Maria Osorio (Pereira, Colombia/Calasanz Pereira) would each have two block assists for the Mustangs.
Set 1
A kill by
Jade Rampton (Nelson, New Zealand/Shanghai American School) would get the Mustangs on the board first. The Javelinas soon come back earning a four point run making the set 1-4. With blocks by
Maria Osorio (Pereira, Colombia/Calasanz Pereira) and
Jayden Hughes (High Rolls, NM/Cloudcroft High School), the set is then tied at 6-6. Staying neck and neck, the Javelinas soon pull ahead with a kill by Rylie Barnett winning the set 19-25.
Javelinas 1, Mustangs 0.
Set 2
Using their momentum for the previous set, the Javelinas pull ahead of the Mustangs 5-12. With a kill from Jéssica Sales, the Mustangs stay in the fight making the score 18-23. Not quite being able to hang on, the Javelinas win the set 21-25.
Javelinas 2, Mustangs 0.
Set 3
In set three, the Mustangs come back with a kill from
Jayden Hughes (High Rolls, NM/Cloudcroft High School) earning the Mustangs the first point and putting them in the lead. Continuing to fight,
Carley Deck (Tucson, AZ/Tanque Verde High School) will make a kill tying the score 4-4. With a kill from Meghan Steifer it would push the Javelinas on top setting the score to 13-20. The Mustangs could not keep up and fall losing the set 18-25, and the match 0-3.

Mustang Volleyball will continue to practice and work hard for their next match against New Mexico Highlands on October 8, 2024 in Silver City, New Mexico.
