WNMU Loses 2nd game This Week
SILVER CITY, NM – The mustangs finished the week on Drags Court, taking on Lubbock Christian Chaps. Final score was 63-40.Â
Mustangs struggled to find a shooting stroke in the first, giving the Chaps a 10 point lead over them.Â
Sydney Wright (Houston, Texas/Henley High School) started off strong for the Mustangs, hitting 2 from deep in the first 3 minutes, but quickly cooled off. Both Milan Tuttle (Oakland, California/Heritage High School) and Diamond Moore (Colorado Springs, CO/Harrison High School) managed to scrap a few points as well, will both of them tied for leading scorer in this matchup.
Although WNMU found a way to bring the lead back to a 6 point differential, the lack of finding a rhythm prevented the Mustangs from staying in the game.
While the Mustangs shot 71% from the charity stripe, the Chaps made every one of their attempts.
The Chaps led this game in almost every column including FG%, 3pnt %, and blocks/steals.
The Mustangs have finished off for this week and will travel in a few days to play Texas A&M University, who was ranked earlier this season, on the road this Thursday.
