LAWTON, OK - Saturday afternoon, at Mchanon Field, the Western New Mexico University Mustangs fell in both games 9-1 and 5-0.

GAME ONE:

CU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning after Kylie French hit a two RBI double and Kaiden Boren hit a two RBI home run.

In the top of the 4th inning, WNMU's Kennedy Jarrard (Carlsbad, CA/Carlsbad HS) hit a solo home run off the foul pole, cutting the Aggie lead to 4-1.

The Aggies continued to put their foot on the gas with French hitting an RBI single. The Aggies led 5-1.

CU extended their lead to 9-1 in the bottom of the 5th inning. Karis Clark hit an RBI double. The two batters later, Mikayla Richmond hit a two RBI bunt single and French then hit an RBI double to mercy rule the Mustangs.

Kamerynn Cordova (Fowler, CA/Fowler HS) started for the Mustangs and got the loss. She is now (2-14) on the year after going 3.2 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 1 K and 1 BB. Aryana Munoz (Dexter, New Mexico/Dexter High School) would relieve Cordova and finish the game going, 1.0 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 1 K, and 1 HBP.

The Aggie started Josie Swafford in the circle. She is now (7-7) on the year. She went 5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER and 7 K.

GAME TWO:

Emily Maddux (Douglas, AZ/Douglas High School) got the loss (0-8) after surrendering 6.0 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 1 K, and 5 BB. 

CU's Robyn Bales threw a complete game, throwing 7.0 IP, 3 H, 8 K, 2 BB, and 1 HBP. Bales is now (7-6).

CU's Josie Swafford got the Aggies on the board in the bottom of the 1st inning with a double down the line, bringing in two runs.

Headed to the 3rd inning, Karis Clark singled in a run, giving the Aggies a 3-0 lead.

The Aggies extended their lead in the bottom of the 6th inning with Taylor Rowley hitting an RBI single. Kyndel McDaniel also hit a ground ball bringing in another run. The Aggies led 5-0.
