WNMU shooting would help them enter halftime with a comfortable lead. Western would shoot 13-of-28 (46.4%) from the field, 5-of-8 (62.5%) from the three-point line, and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line. MSU size would give them the upper hand in the first half, scoring 20 of their 28 points in the paint.

WNMU really put an emphasis on getting points off MSU's mistakes. Western scored 16 points off their turnovers.
Cassandra Vickery (Tularosa, NM/Tularosa HS) would grab two steals for WNMU.

Bench points and assists would help WNMU grab the win over MSU. WNMU would finish with 19 bench points compared to Midwestern's six. Western would also end with 17 assists.

Western would end the afternoon shooting 21-of-57(36.8%) from the field, 8-of-20 (40%) from the three-point line, and 14-of-19 (73.7%) from the free-throw line. WNMU would also add 33 rebounds, 17 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocks, and 17 turnovers.
