Box Score Silver City, N.M. – The Western New Mexico Volleyball team was in action Wednesday September 14
th against Angelo State at Drag's Court. The Mustangs would lose to the Rambelles in four sets 3-1.

Bria Augustine (Bellflower, CA/Mayfair High School) lead the Mustang offense tonight as she finished with 13 kills. Freshman
Peyton Castillo (Las Vegas, NV/Sierra Vista HS) had her "dimer badge" on hall of fame level tonight as she finished with 19 assists. Senior
Madelynn Culp (Vancouver, WA/Union High School) followed Castillo closely with 18 assists.

Zoë Chatterton did her best Dikembe Mutombo impression as she totaled six blocks. Sophomore
Janey Cortez (El Paso, TX/East Lake HS) was covering the Mustang floor all night as she finished with 19 digs. Sophomore
Vianey Lopez Marrufo (El Paso, TX/Del Valle HS) followed closely behind with 18 digs ow her own.
In set one the Rambelles scorched off to an early 5-0 on the Mustangs. The following play would lead to a big block by Chatterton shifting the momentum in favor of the Mustangs. The Mustangs would take the set 25-19. Mustangs 1, Rambelles 0.
The Mustangs would carry that momentum into set two as they would jump out to an early 9-5. The Rambelles would trail 24-18 before scoring 8 unanswered points and take set two 26-24 over the Mustangs. Mustangs 1, Rambelles 1.
Set three the Rambelles would jump out to an early 10-6 advantage on the Mustangs. The Rambelles would ride that momentum all the way to victory as they defeated the Mustangs 25-16 in set three. Rambelles 2, Mustangs 1.
In set four the game would be back-and-forth, as both teams traded points. The game would be tied all the way up until the end. The Rambelles would be the team to prevail and win set four 25-23, taking the match 3-1 over the Mustangs.
The Mustangs will be back in action at Drag's Court on Friday September 16
th against Texas A&M International (6:00PM MT).
