Goodyear, AZ - The Western New Mexico University Men's Golf team is hosting 17 teams in the RJGA Palm Valley Classic April 4-5th at the Palm Valley Golf Course. After two 18-hole rounds in day one, the Mustangs are sitting in 12th place shooting +12 to par and a total of 588 (291-297).
Ranked in T-3rd place is Mustang
Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) shooting -6 to par and a total score card of 138 (71-67).
Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary) is in T-14th shooting -1 to par and carded 143 (68-75). Mustang
Aaron Perales (Deming, NM/Deming HS) is sitting in T-69th shooting +8 to par and after two rounds has a total of 152 (77-75).
Yong Tu Kim is T-81st shooting +12 to par and after both rounds on the day, carded 156 (76-80). Individual Arvnav Arkanath placed T-87th, shot +14 and had a scorecard of 158 (79-79).
Adam Sanegard shot 76 in the first round and withdrew in the second round.
Currently in first place, is Midwestern State University shooting -15 to par (561), in second place is Fort Lewis College shooting -6 to par (570), and in third place Chico State University shooting -5 (571).
Jake Doggett from Midwestern State University and Tiaan de Jager from Lubbock Christian University are tied in first place both shooting -7 with a total of 137.
Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS), representing the Mustangs is in third place shooting -6 to par and a total of 138.
The Mustangs will continue to host the RJGA Palm Valley Classic, Tuesday April 5th with tee-off at 8:00 am.
