Silver City, NM - Friday afternoon, Western New Mexico University Softball played a doubleheader against Eastern New Mexico University. The Mustangs would lose both games 9-2 and 7-6.

Game One:

The Greyhounds would hit an RBI single in the first inning, giving them a 1-0 lead.

 In the 3rd inning, the Greyhounds would get four runs on four hits, including two doubles and a homerun. ENMUadded on with a ground out, bringing in one more runner. They would lead 6-0 after four innings of play.

In the 5th inning, the Mustangs got on the board with a Bryana Munoz (Dexter, NM/Dexter High School) two-run homerun. The Mustangs trailed 6-2.

The Greyhounds added an insurance run in the 6th inning and two in the 7th inning, giving them a 9-2 lead.

The Greyhounds continued their momentum in the 2nd inning, having six runs on four hits. One of those hits was a grand slam by Kaiden Boren, her second of the day. CU led 11-0 after two.

Aryana Munoz (Dexter, New Mexico/Dexter High School) got the start. She went 4.0 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 4 K, and 2 BB. Julia Vega (Tucson, AZ/University HS) finished it out, going 3.0 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, and 2 K.

The Greyhounds started Brook Leger. She is now 10-13 on the year. She went 6.1 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 10 K and 2 BB. Taylor Harrison finished out the game, going 0.2 IP.

Game Two:

The Greyhounds got on the board first with an RBI single in the 1st inning. The Mustangs answered back in the top of the 2nd inning, with a Laryssa Morales (Vail, AZ/Cienega High School) single.

In the 4th inning, ENMU would add anothe4 runner, making the score 2-0. The Mustangs answered right back with four runs on six hits. 

In the 6th inning, the Mustangs brought in two more runners, but ENMU was not phased putting up there runs on three hits. ENMU would go on to win 7-6.

Vanessa Hunt (Phoenix, AZ/Mountain Pointe High School) started for the Mustang pitching 6.2 IP, 12 H, 7 ER, 3 K, BB, and HBP.

ENMU's starting pitcher, Lisette Urquidez is now (2-6). She pitched 4.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER,  K, and 2 BB.
