WOMEN'S RESULTS
Tucson, Ariz. - Western New Mexico University opened up their outdoor Track and Field season at the University of Arizona, racing in the at the 2022 Willie Williams Classic.
For the women,
Maggie Orr (Gilbert, AZ/Gilbert HS) ran in the 3000 meter steeplechase and ended up placing 7th with a time of 12:12.73. Junior
Sophia Rodriguez (Tucson, AZ/Marana HS) competed in the 800 meter dash with a rank of 19th place and a time of 2:33.69.
As for the men, each of the five members competed in the 5000 meter dash.
Aaron Perez (El Paso. TX/Eastwood High School) would go on to finish in 8th place with a time of 15:08.58, followed by
Cody Hepker (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia HS) in 12th place at 15:25.79.
Joshua Lara (Albuquerque, NM/Atrisco Heritage Academy HS) finished in 13th at 15:35.52. Next for WNMU, was
Ahren Thorson () finishing in 19th place at 15:58.87, and
Dylan Walker (El Paso. TX/Burges High School) finished at 17:06.31, placing 19th place.
The Mustangs Men's and Women's teams will compete in the Paradise Valley Community College, Distance in the Dark, on March 24th
