Double-Doubles From Doss and Pedersen Help Mustangs Improve to 4-0

Silver City, N.M. - Friday afternoon, Western New Mexico University Men's Basketball team walked off Drags Court 4-0 to start the year, after defeating Southwest Assemblies of God University American Indian College 105-53.

"Tonight was much more of a complete game outside of the first 8 minutes. We really dominated the rest of the game," said Head Coach Zane Gibson."That's a step for us. It doesn't matter who you play, you still play the game the right way and I believe we did that for most of the night."

Jordan Doss (Chicago, Ill./Chicago Hope Academy) had a huge night, putting up 28pts and 13 rebounds in his double-double. Olamide Pedersen (Bronshoj, Denmark /Sunrise Christian Academy) also had a double-double, bucketing 12pts and 12 rebounds.

"Jordan bounced back from last night. He didn't settle, attacked the rim and really rebounded well," said Gibson." He really works hard and the work is paying off."

The Mustangs limited the turnovers with 10 and drew 22 fouls. WNMU would capitalize going 19-28 at the free throw line. Second chance points were huge for the Mustangs, earning 31pts.

WNMU rebounded well both nights against SAGUAIC. Having 41 rebounds just a night ago, the Mustangs finished with 51 tonight.

"I am proud of Ola. He controlled the rim for us on the defensive side and anytime a guy gets a double-double, he's had a good night" said Gibson.
