Box Score Kingsville,TX – The Western New Mexico University Volleyball team went face-to-face with the Texas A&M University - Kingsville Javelinas. The Javelinas defeated the Mustangs in three score battling sets.

Bria Augustine (Bellflower, CA/Mayfair High School) had great night at Gil. E. Steinke Physical Education Center totaling 15 for the match. Another Mustang senior
Maggie Roe (Boulder City, NV/Boulder City High School), had a great hitting night with 7 kills for a hitting percentage of .294. Junior Zoe Chatterton with 3 kills also tieing Vianey Lopez Maruffo and
Kayla Villarreal (El Paso, TX/Americas HS).
Mustang veteran
Madelynn Culp (Vancouver, WA/Union High School) ended the night with 16 assists and 8 digs. Freshman
Hailey Hertzog (Phoenix, AZ/Chaparral High School) gathered 10 sets, 2 aces, and 6 digs against the Javelinas. Freshman Eliana Moultire tied for the most digs tonight also having 8 digs.
In set one, WNMU fought to find their balance and team harmony dropping set one 20-25. Set two in the battle boded well for the Javelinas as the team's hitting percentage was .348. Mustangs found themselves with low energy at the beginning of the set, made a turn around towards the end, but were unable to pull through the finish. Throughout set three, the Mustangs focused on discipline making sure the hitting errors, that were costly in the last two sets, and were able to minimzed them to 5. However, in the end, the biggest enemy were the 5 serving errors.
WNMU Mustangs will continue to hit the road to Laredo, TX to play against Texas A&M International University. The game is on October 23th, with the first serve at 1:30 MT.
