Women's Basketball Increases 2020-2021 Roster by Three

SILVER CITY, N.M. – Head Women's Basketball Coach, Josh Pace continues to build his 2020-2021 roster with the additions of Olivia Lee, Myla Lee and Charlize Bustillos to the Mustang roster. The three will join Vasquez, Bobbitt and Simon who signed earlier this spring.

Olivia Lee joins the Purple and Gold after competing for the Cobras of Cactus High School. The 6'2, Post from Peoria, Arizona dedicated all four years to the basketball program, while playing three seasons on the volleyball team. A First-Team All-District selection in 2018-19, Olivia also garnered First Team All-Region recognition as a sophomore and junior. In her senior season, she averaged a double-double with 12.8 points per game, to go along with 12.5 rebounds and 2.6 blocks landing on the Second Team All-District squad, while making it a three peat with First Team All-Region honors. Outside of athletics, she was a dedicated member of the National Honor Society.

COACH PACE ON OLIVIA: "We are happy to add Olivia Lee to our family. She is a versatile post on offense and a solid rebounder. We're looking forward to watching her growth on and off the court."

Myla Lee who is Olivia's cousin, joins the Mustang squad after a stellar career at Cactus High School. A 5'8 guard, Myla was no stranger to the basket, averaging 18.5 points per game. She also dished out 2.7 assists, pulled down 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 steals.
A four year varsity veteran, Myla racked up accolades during her time with the Cobras. As a freshman, she landed on the All-Region Second Team. The following season as a sophomore she took home First Team All-Region honors, as well as Second Team All-District. As an upperclassman she repeated on the All-District and All-Region teams, while also securing Region Player of the Year. The honors continued into her final season, as a First Team All-Region and All-District selection, along with Region and District Player of the Year and Second Team All-4A Conference, all while scoring over 1,000 points.

COACH PACE ON MYLA: "Myla is a very aggressive player and has a nose for getting into the paint on offense. She has good size for a guard and is capable of playing multiple positions on the floor. We are looking forward to seeing her development."

Charlize Bustillos makes the three hour drive west to Silver City, after a career at Riverside High School. As a 5'7 guard, Charlize averaged 21.8 points per game, 2.1 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 steals in her senior season. Voted Newcomer of the Year as a freshman, Charlize then took home First Team All-District honors as a junior. Her team's Offensive MVP, she landed All-State recognition, and completed her career as the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Academically, she finished in the top three percent of her class all four years.

COACH PACE ON CHARLIZE: "Charlize is another versatile guard that will be capable of playing both guard positions. She will compete on both ends of the floor and has a high basketball IQ."
