SILVER CITY, N.M.-- Head Women's Basketball Coach, Josh Pace announces his first addition to the 2020-2021 roster. Hailing from Buckeye, Arizona is 6'2 Center Amaya Vasquez. Joining her is 5'11 Utility player Cynaye Bobbitt from Harker Heights HS in Killeen, Texas.

Bobbitt competed for the Knights at Harker Heights High School in Killeen, Texas, playing 3 years on the varsity squad. while also competiting for the Volleyball team for two years. Her team finished 12^th in the Texas 6A Division with a 32-6 record, and won over 25 games by double digits. In her 3 years on Varsity basketball, Cynaye helped contribute to 76 wins. 
 
COACH PACE ON CYNAYE: "Cynaye will bring athleticism, versatility, and is capable of guarding multiple positions.  She also is a solid shooter from the perimeter.  We are very excited to get her on campus and get to work in developing her game even more."

A four year letter winner, playing two seasons at Odyssey Institute before completing her high school career at Buckeye, Vasquez was a force on both ends of the ball averaging 9.3 points per game, while pulling down just as many rebounds at 9.6 per game. To go along with her defensive efforts, she averaged just over a block per game. The Hawks produced a 21-8 record, in addition to being an undefeated 8-0 in their section, for their second consecutive season with 20+ wins. 
 
 
COACH PACE ON AMAYA: "Amaya is going to bring hard work, energy, and a defensive mentality to the program.  I like that she takes pride in attacking the offensive and defensive glass which is a very important quality to have in the Lone Star Conference. She is a very high character student-athlete as well and will make our program better."
