Silver City, N.M – In their home and conference opener of the season, the Mustangs faced the Falcons of UT – Permian Basin. UTPB ultimately took home a three-set sweep, earning their ninth win of the season, while the Mustangs fell to 2-7 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- WNMU took the first two points of the match, before the Falcons rallied off nine points to take the early lead.
- The Mustang cut the lead to two with a four point run of their own, but could not retake the lead falling 25-21 in the opening set
- Set two saw UTPB string together multiple points to take a 13-7 lead, never letting up taking the 2-0 lead in the match
- In a must win third set for the Mustangs, the teams traded points up until late when the Falcons led 18-12, going on to take the set and match 25-19.
