  • Just under the nine minute mark, WNMU lost the ball on a rush to be recovered and returned to the endzone for highlands second touchdown of the game and the lead, 14-7 going into the half.
  • Down their leading rusher and senior leader, WNMU rallied together and came out hot in the third quarter.
  • The Mustangs started their scoring run with a 20-yard field goal from Ignacio Correa (Midland, TX/Midland).
  • A fumble on the kickoff by NMHU was recovered by Isaiah Perez (Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad HS) at the NMHU 30 to give the ball right back to WNMU.
  • On the first play, CJ Fowler (Mesa, AZ/Desert Ridge HS) found none other than Reggie Colson III (Hollywood, FL/South Borward HS) this time from 30-yards out for the first WNMU lead, 17-14.
  • At the 10:23 mark in the fourth, Highlands tied it up at 17 with a 37-yard field goal attempt.
