Volleyball Drops Season Series to Angelo State

Silver City, N.M.— In their second meeting this season, the visiting Angelo State Rambelles entered Drag's Court Thursday night looking to remain flawless in conference play. They did just that, earning a sweep over the Mustangs (25-17, 25-16, 25-12).

Bria Augustine (Bell Flower, CA/Mayfair High School) – 9 kills | .333 hitting percentage | 8 digs
Hannah Tishlarich (Elk Grove, CA/Pleasant Grove High School) – 4 kills | .333 hitting percentage

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Rambelles wasted no time asserting their offense, recording 16 kills in the opening set on a .371 hitting clip.
  • WNMU would go on small runs throughout set one, but could not close the gap.
  • In set two, a kill by Kim Austin (Las Vegas, NV /Basic High School ) stopped a 7-0 scoring run by ASU.
  • A Mustang service error gave way to a 20-9 lead in favor of the Belles.
  • The Mustangs would rally off seven points to cut into the lead, but fell 25-16.
  • ASU hit .480 as a team on their way to a three set sweep.
UP NEXT:
Mustang volleyball will host the Lady Chaps of Lubbock Christian this Saturday on Drag's Court. They will look to tie the season series after dropping the first meeting back on Sept. 27. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
