Volleyball Falls in Three at Angelo State

San Angelo, Texas – The Mustangs fell in straight sets Friday night (25-12, 25-23, 25-18) to the Belles of Angelo State at Stephens Arena in the Junell Center. The Mustangs drop to 7-11 overall, and 3-6 in conference play.
 
The Belles took set one with efficiency, hitting .400 as a team while holding the Mustangs to a (-.121) team hitting percentage.
 
Set two saw the two teams battle it out, with Angelo narrowly coming out with the 25-23 set win. The Mustangs would improve their hitting to .256, 13 kills on 39 attempts committing only three errors.
 
The Mustangs were unable to match the efficiency of the Belles, ending the match hitting .061 as a team compared to the Belles .228.
 
Freshman, Bria Augustine (Bell Flower, CA/Mayfair High School) returned to the court after sitting out due to injury the past few games, finishing the match with 11 kills (.229) and 15 digs. Madelynn Culp (Vancouver, WA/Union High School) compiled 16 assists, while Gabi Lau (Kailua, HI/University Laboratory School) contributed 17 digs on the night.
 
The Mustangs look to bounce back tomorrow, as they take on the undefeated TexAnns of Tarleton State at 2 p.m. (CT)
