Free Admission to Men’s Basketball Game This Friday Versus Benedictine-Mesa

SILVER CITY, N.M. – Come out this Friday and enjoy the holiday season with a free admission game between the Western New Mexico University men's basketball team and Benedictine-Mesa that will take place at 6 p.m. inside Drag's Court.

This will be the first game for the Mustangs (1-10) since playing at Arizona Christian on Dec. 14. They faced Benedictine-Mesa the day before Arizona Christian in which the Firestorm took the 81-68 victory.

Benedictine-Mesa took off after winning that game against WNMU and have strung together a three-game winning streak also besting Pacific Union and Simpson University, both in California. The Firestorm are 7-7 on the season and 3-3 on the road.

WNMU is 1-4 at home this season with the win coming at the start of the year over Oklahoma Panhandle. Sophomore Jordan Enriquez (El Paso, TX/Bel Air ) continues to lead the team in scoring at 14.1 points per game. He also adds 4.4 rebounds, 16 assists, a block and four steals. Sophomore Willie McCray (Clovis, NM/Clovis/Westwind Prep Academy ) is second at 10 points per game and leads the team in both assists (21) and steals (12). Junior Latrell Spivey (Phoenix, AZ/Westview) is still nearly averaging a double-double with a team-best 10.7 rebounds and adds 9.8 points. He has sent back a team-high six blocks. Freshman Eddie Giron (Monterrey, Mexico/Harmony Science Academy) has made a strong impact this season with 9.1 points.

This will be the final non-conference game of the season for the Mustangs, as they will return to Lone Star Conference play on Tuesday, Jan. 3 versus Eastern New Mexico. Friday's game will mark the first of four-straight at home for WNMU.
